Moonshine Meadery, recognized as Asia and India’s inaugural meadery, specializes in crafting mead, the world’s oldest alcoholic beverage, made by fermenting honey with diverse fruits and spices. Notably, their Guava Chilli Mead earned them the prestigious title of the Best New Beverage of 2020 at the Alcobuzz Awards. They sought an investment of ₹80 Lakhs for 0.5% of the company, valuing their business at ₹160 Crores.

Moonshine Meads Shark Tank India Negotiations & Funding:

All five sharks were interested in the company and offered ₹1 Crore for 2.5% of the company, valuing the business at ₹40 Crores. The founders take a moment to think and discuss that they have already raised investment at a much higher valuation. The founders also commented that they were in talks to raise investment at thrice the valuation they were getting at Shark Tank India. The entrepreneurs come back to counter at ₹1.5 Crores for 1% of the company. The sharks refused the offer, and Moonshine leaves the tank without the deal.

How is Moonshine Meads doing after Shark Tank India?

Our research into the company revealed that while Moonshine Meads did not get the deal on Shark Tank India, the company is still in business as of January 2024. The founders shared in a conversation with Anshuman Sharma that they were looking forward to working with Aman and admitted that they were on the Shark Tank Show to create awareness of their brand, more importantly than getting an investment. They also shared that they went to the show with an inflated figure when it comes to their valuation, and even after a year after their episode aired, their company is still not worth ₹160 Crores.
