Wicked Gud is an Indian startup that appeared on Shark Tank India in Season 2. They are known for selling pastas and Noodles but the founders shared that they use core ingredients like Lentils, Brown Rice, Chickpea, Whole Wheat flour & Oats for their base rather than traditional Maida which is considered unhealthy.
Wicked Gud make their instant noodles with SCAD technology due to which they have 0% oil in them. They also do not add any flavour enhancers. Brand sales started in October 2021 and they sell from their own website, online marketplaces & quick commerce sites. The company is already exporting their product to four countries. The founders shared that their products will be rapidly available in 6 cities across India by March 2023. The founders sought an investment of ₹50 Lakhs for 1% of the company valuing the business at ₹50 Crores.
Wicked Gud is priced at around 2X of the price of Maggi which is the dominant player in this field. Their single cake is priced at ₹45 versus the ₹25 of Maggi Noodles. The company shared that they would be able to match Maggi’s pricing at Scale. Notably, the company has a big price advantage in the pasta space.

Wicked Gud made a revenue of ₹19.5 Lakhs in July 2022 and they closed October 2022 at ₹35 Lakhs. The founders shared that they are growing around 20% month on month. Interestingly, The company is burning ₹50 Lakhs every month after all their expenses. So Far, They have raised ₹13.25 Crores in Funding to keep the company going.
Their Average order value is at ₹400 out of which ₹160 goes to COGS leaving them with 60% gross margin. This leaves them with ₹240, ₹60 goes to channel margin, logistics take another ₹125 leaving them with ₹40 after all that costs. Also the company spends ₹200 on marketing leaving them with ₹150 loss per order.
Wicked Gud Shark Tank India Negotiations & Funding:
Aman already invested in Wicked Gud therefore he leaves the panel due to a conflict of interest. The company shared that Aman invested in their pre-seed round at ₹17 Crores valuation. Namita went out due to not seeing a path to profitability. Anupam went out due to same reason.
Peyush went out because he felt like the founder did not had a right motivation to run this brand. Vineeta went out due to high valuation. Amit felt like the founders needed to reset their business and he is not fundamentally aligned with their views.

Our research in the Wicked Gud revealed that despite not getting a deal the Company is still in business as of August 2024. In late 2023, Wicked Gud went into a partnership with the Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty Kundra who is now the face of the brand. Interestingly, She is also endorsing another Shark Tank product Zoff Spices.
