Bakarmax is a comics and animation studio based in India. They launch 4 webcomics and 2 animated shorts monthly. Also, They release those on their platform with the same name where they have 40 other contributors. As for intellectual property rights, Bakarmax has Babugusha and many other characters. They also do client work for Indian and international clients like Airbnb, Amnesty International, etc. Their vision is to consolidate the entire animation industry. They sought an investment of ₹35 Lakhs for 5% valuing their business at ₹7 Crores.
Bakarmax has a monthly traffic of 9000 and 3000 unique users. Further, The company has a revenue of ₹5.8 Lakhs per month, which mainly comes from services. Bakarmax’s founder admitted that they lacked marketing and focused on comics rather than animation, which is why the business is not growing.
Bakarmax Shark Tank India Negotiations & Funding:
Namita was the first shark to go out because she commented that humor is subjective; she didn’t like the demo and didn’t like the business model either. Ashneer felt like Sumit had a good creative side but lacked business sense; therefore, he goes out of these negotiations. Anupam goes out of the deal because he didn’t see how the business would scale. Aman didn’t like the demo either; therefore, he stepped out of the deal. Peyush was interested in the business but didn’t like the number of followers they had. He did add that he would like to see them outside, but he refused to fund the company at this stage.

Sumit Kumar founded Bakarmax. He is an engineer by profession and was part of the founding team of Comicon India.
How is Bakarmax doing after Shark Tank India?
Our research on the company Bakarmax revealed that while they did not get a deal on Shark Tank India, the show has given them nationwide exposure and validation. Also, The founder appeared on the podcast “Art with Abir” and shared that Bakarmax has brought the level of comics down, which has made life easier for other companies trying to excel in this space.
