Waggy Zone makes Ice Cream pre-mix powder for dogs. The company appeared on Shark Tank India Season 2 Finale. The founder shared that their Ice cream pre-mixes just need added water and then pet parents can freeze them and serve accordingly.
Waggy Zone products are made from coconut powder and fruit powder so they are healthy for the dogs. Their products are available through their own website & marketplaces. In addition to that, This product is also available at 196 offline pet stores across India. The company has served over 20,000 dogs so far. The founder sought an investment of ₹50 lakhs for 5% of the company valuing the business at ₹10 Crores.
Waggy Zone’s Revenue & Financials during Shark Tank India:
Waggy Zone claims to be the first brand in this market across India however the founders shared that these products are already available in international markets. Waggy Zone sells their pre-mix for ₹199 which sharks found a bit pricy. The founder added that they are selling 3,500 units of this product just from offline stores per month.
Waggy Zone made a revenue of ₹24 Lakhs in FY21-22. The company also made revenue of ₹1.25 Lakhs a month prior to their pitch. The founder shared that they are currently not profitable but they are breaking even on EBITDA level. Last month, The company’s revenue was split 50-50 between offline and online channels.
The company is making a gross margin of 60% through retail channels and 80% in D2C. The founder shared that they are averaging a 65% gross margin so far. In terms of forecast, The company is projecting to make ₹40 lakhs in FY22-23.
Waggy Zone Shark Tank India Negotiations & Funding:
Namita felt like the pricing was too high but this market has a small TAM. Aman went out due to the high pricing of the product as well. Anupam commented that there is no business here but this just seems like a hobby. He commented that the founder is out of touch from ground reality.
Vineeta went out due to the high pricing of the product as well. She added that it’s a very niche product with a small market currently. Peyush suggested the entrepreneur explore international markets due to the pricing of the product but he did not invest in the business either. Waggy Zone walked out of the Tank without a deal.
