Vobble is an Indian startup which appeared on Shark Tank India Season 3 Episode 33. It is basically an audio platform for kids where they can listen to music, stories, and audio shows. They provide this through a multi-sensory experience. The offerings also include audio content, headphones, and activity books related to the audio content. All their content is created in-house. The founder’s vision is to make Vobble the world’s biggest exclusive kids audio platform and to fulfill this, they sought an investment of ₹25 lakhs for 1.5% of the equity valuing the business at ₹16.67 Crores.
Vobble’s Revenue & Financials during Shark Tank India:
Vobble was launched in August 2023 and their pitch was shot in September 2023. They are still in the pre-revenue stage but founders shared that they have already made ₹6 Lakhs in revenue thus far. The company’s target audience is 4-10 year old kids. Their starter pack is priced at ₹3,500. Also, It comes with headphones, activity books, and 6 months of subscription to the content which can be accessed through the App. Moreover, The App is only for parents’ use and kids would only need to wear headphones.
Vobble is currently selling through their own website and some offline channels as well. For a ₹3,500 starter pack, COGS is ₹1,100 giving them a gross profit of ₹2,400. They also charge monthly subscription fee between ₹250-₹300 after the initial 6 months. They currently have 200 users. Their average listening time is around 35 Minutes on weekdays and over 45 minutes on weekends.
Vobble Shark Tank India Negotiations & Funding:
Anupam felt like the founders lacked clarity on what they wanted to do with their business, therefore, he went out of the negotiations. Aman also goes out but he suggests founders to add a lower price device in the product line as well. Deepinder also felt like the founders were not sure what they want to do because they couldn’t differentiate if this is a hardware or a content business therefore he goes out as well. Vineeta goes out due to competitiveness in the content market.
Namita was the first shark to give Vobble an offer because she believed in the product. She offered ₹25 Lakhs for 5% of the business valuing the company at ₹5 Crores. The founders shared that they are raising a big funding round of ₹4 Crores out of which they already got ₹3 Crores from institutional investors at ₹25 Crore cap and ₹10 Crores Floor. Due to this they countered Namita with ₹25 Lakhs for 2% which gives the business ₹12.5 Crore valuation.
