Ubreathe Shark Tank India Negotiations & Funding:
Anupam was the first shark to go out due to a lack of awareness about the big picture from the founders. Vineeta felt that the efficacy of the product was lower than the competition, making it challenging to build a profitable business due to the lack of margins in their gross profits. Due to these reasons, she also went out of the negotiations. Then, Aman believed that the product is not yet market fit; therefore, he also goes out of the deal. Peyush suggests that founders should bring a strategic investor, but he was not interested in this business.
Namita saw the potential of the product and wanted to position this with a health angle. She also mentioned her overall interest in health and the environment, which was another reason she wanted to be part of this company. With these comments, Namita offered ₹50 Lakhs for 5% of the company and the rest as debt at 10% of the company. Entrepreneurs countered that with ₹50 Lakhs for 4%, which Namita refused and added that it would be non-negotiable. After some discussion among themselves, the company accepted the offer of ₹50 Lakhs for 5% and the rest as debt, giving them a valuation of ₹10 crores.

How is Ubreathe doing after Shark Tank India?
Our research in the company revealed that their Shark Tank India deal with Namita did not close after the show aired. This was even confirmed by the founders later in a conversation with Startup Pedia. Sanjay added that there are some big grey areas when you get commitment on the show biggest one being no timeline on how long it would take the process to complete. He said that this is being misused by the sharks as sometimes there are no updates for around 10-months. This was also one of the reasons why their deal fell through. He goes through some other reasons as well in detail so I recommend checking the full interview out.
Despite this setback, the company is still in business as of January 2024. They have also launched a new variant called Ubreathe mini Light, which is available to pre-order through their website. They were working on closing a Pre-series A round of an undisclosed amount by the end of the year 2023 but the amount of that is not yet public. Sanjay did however mentioned that IIT Ropar has also made a formal investment in the company.
