Ariro Toys Shark Tank India Pitch:
Ariro Toys, a wooden toy company specializing in products for children aged 0 to 3 years, gained recognition on Shark Tank India Season 1 Episode 33. Founded by Nishananthini Ramasamy and Vasanth Angudurai, they sought 50 lakhs for 2.5% equity on the show. Ariro Toys distinguishes itself by offering eco-friendly, hand-crafted toys created by Indian artists, including traditional push wagons, wooden balancing boards, and PIKLER triangles. Their toys are made from Neem Wood, known for being antibacterial and antifungal. They were launched in June 2020 and have designed and executed over 100 products so far. Their vision is to be the first choice for every child.
Their entry-level products cost ₹250 and go up to ₹23,000. The Jungle gym, which costs ₹23,000, is handmade and costs the company around ₹12,000 to make. Their monthly revenue is between 25-30 Lakh rupees. 80% of their sales come directly from their website, and the rest come from other online marketplaces like Amazon. They have also tied up with Hamleys and are present in 43 stores across the country. Their month-on-month growth is at 9%, and they have 43 thousand followers on Instagram, where they do content marketing to draw traffic to their site.
Ariro Shark Tank India Negotiations:
Ashneer likes the business and offers ₹50 lakh for 15% of the company. Namita goes out because she thinks that the pricing of the product is a little steep for the Indian market. Following that, Peyush and Aman match Ashneer’s offer of ₹50 lakh for 15%. Anupam also gives an offer of ₹50 lakh for 12%. After that, Ashneer revises his offer to 11% for the same amount of money. Anupam also revises the offer after that to ₹50 lakh for 10%.
The company takes a moment to think, and by the time they come back, Ashneer and Anupam join hands to give an offer of ₹50 lakh for 10% of the company. Ariro counters the offer with ₹50 lakh for 10% of the company, but they decide to go with Peyush and Aman. Ashneer jumps in to offer the company ₹50 lakh for 9%, but Peyush and Aman accept the company’s counter at 10%, and they shake hands on that deal.
This was one of the most entertaining pitches, so I recommend you to watch this as well.

How is Ariro Doing after Shark Tank India?
Our research in the company revealed that the company’s Shark Tank India deal with Aman and Peyush went through. Vasanth shared on a podcast that they were there more for mentorship than funding. He added that the show has given them lots of light, and they received inquiries for their products from across India and abroad. Interestingly, he shared that he has a WhatsApp group with his co-founder and sharks where they exchange ideas, and they are very quick with their responses.
In Season 2 of Shark Tank India which would be late 2022, Peyush shared that the company is doing a monthly revenue of ₹50 Lakhs after their investment which is almost 4X from the revenue they were generating before their appearance on Shark Tank India.
As of November 2023, the company is still in business and growing. They boast an impressive 90 thousand-plus followers on their Instagram handle and have millions of views on their reels. They have also opened their first retail location in Chennai where they display their flagship products. While the financials of the company are not yet available to the public, we will update this information as soon as more information comes to light.
